The Great Migration is present in Maasai Mara typically from July to October, with peak river crossings in August and September. However, wildlife movements are unpredictable and depend on rainfall patterns. Even outside migration season, the Mara has excellent year-round resident wildlife including all Big Five. We recommend booking July-October for the best chances of witnessing this spectacular natural phenomenon.

Pack light, neutral-colored clothing (khaki, beige, olive green) for game drives. Maasai Mara has excellent populations of lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo, giving you very high chances (90%+) of seeing these four. Black rhinos are rarer but present, with about 40-60% chance of sighting depending on luck and time spent searching. Our experienced guides know the territories and habits of resident animals, significantly increasing your chances. Multiple game drives over 5 days provide excellent opportunities.

Yes! This is an "Easy" difficulty safari suitable for all ages. Game drives involve sitting in a comfortable vehicle, and walks are minimal. Children of all ages are welcome, though we recommend age 6+ for the most enjoyable experience as game drives require patience and quiet. Our luxury camps have family tents available. Elderly travelers will find the pace comfortable with plenty of rest time between drives. Please inform us of any special needs or mobility concerns when booking.

Cancellations more than 60 days before departure: 25% cancellation fee. 30-60 days: 50% fee. 15-30 days: 75% fee. Less than 15 days or no-show: 100% fee (no refund). We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellations, medical emergencies, and evacuation. Emergency cancellations due to serious illness or family emergencies will be considered on a case-by-case basis with medical documentation.
